What exactly is Rakia? Rakia encompasses all types of fructose based alcoholic spirits. The Rakia family includes Eau-de-Vie, Calvados, Schnapps, Palinka Brandy, but by any name Rakia is the social thread that connects much of Europe. Rakia is an all-natural, craft distilled (in 90 litre stills) fruit- spirit that’s warming, complex, meant to be sipped, savoured and contemplated. And thanks to Dušan Varga, it’s here!
Rakia Bar is a bar like no other. It’s a gathering place, it’s an after-work wind down and it’s a social hub for those who like a good side of conversation with their brandy.
I made out to Rakia Bar with a few friends and here is what we enjoyed:

Crispy Suckling Pig: Czech Steamed Bun, Peach and Basil
Cucumber Salad: Dill, House Cultured Cream with Puffed Wild Rice
Chevapi Trio: naked minced meat sausages, free of their casing. Freedom sausages! Venison, Boar, Lamb, Sour Cherry, Onion Preserve Whipped Herb Kaymak (farm fresh, slightly cultured cow’s cream cheese), served with Lepinya (Balkan Style Flat Bread)
Palate Cleanser: House Sour Cherries
Keks Torta: Raspberry & Espresso
Shne Nokle: Lemon, Blackberry and Poppy Seed Palm Tree Tuile
